Board of Commissioners

The Hillsdale Housing Commission is appointed by the Hillsdale City Manager.  Appointments are five-year terms, and residents of the Commission's housing programs are eligible for appointment.  The Hillsdale Housing Commission is a five-member volunteer board.

President Patrice Martin is the Business Solutions Manager-Hillsdale & Grants Officer for South Central Michigan Works.  Prior to Michigan Works, Ms. Martin served as Director of the Economic Development Authority and President of the Hillsdale County Housing Continuum of Care. Her background includes over fifteen years working with nonprofit organizations, including extensive work in community and economic development.	Vice President Kelly LoPresto is the Communications Director for the Hillsdale County Senior Services Center (Perennial Park).  Prior to serving at the Senior Center, Ms. LoPresto worked for Hillsdale County United Way and was active with the Hillsdale County Housing Continuum of Care and Human Services Network.	Shannan Clevenger is the Utilization Management Director for LifeWays. Ms. Clevenger serves as Board President for Will Carleton Academy, serves on the Board for the Branch, Hillsdale and St. Joseph County Health Plan and the Hillsdale County ISD Transition Council. Her background includes over 17 years working in the nonprofit sector.	Commissioner Sanford is an Associate broker and appraiser with Century 21 Action Associates. Mr.. Sanford serves on many boards, including the Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce, Hillsdale Township Planning Commission, the Regional Planning Commission, Branch County Civil War Celebration committee. and  serves as Treasurer of the Hillsdale County Board of Realtors.  He was formerly  on he Board of the Hillsdale Community Schools and the Hillsdale Township Board, and was chair of the MARO Workers Compensation Trust fund.	Commissioner Richard Simons served two years in the Navy and 30 years as a volunteer fireman.  Mr. Simons served five years previously on the Housing Commission in the early 1990's and has accepted another term, this time as the Housing Commission's Resident Commissioner.

Meeting Schedule

The Hillsdale Housing Commission meets at noon in the Community Room of Hilltop Apartments on the Thursday closest to but before the 10th of each month.  Members of the public and Hilltop Apartments residents are encouraged to attend our meetings.  Our meeting schedule for the current fiscal year is listed below:
