Minutes - Regular January 06, 2000 Call to Order The regular monthly meeting of the Hillsdale Housing Commission was held in the Community Room of Hilltop Apartments on Thursday, January 06, 2000, and was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Vice president Field. Roll Call
Minutes Regular/Annual Meeting December 09, 1999 Commissioner Fowler, supported by Commissioner Skiver, moved to approve the minutes of the annual and regular meeting held December 09, 1999 as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Report of Maintenance Unit Turnovers Maintenance Supervisor Paul Piper presented a report on unit turnover times at Hilltop Apartments. 9-1-1 Telephone Mr. Piper reported that an emergency 9-1-1 telephone had been installed in the Community Room of Hilltop Apartments, as discussed during previous meetings. Lobby Door Lock Change Mr. Piper reported that the lobby and patio door locks had been replaced with high-security locksets, as discussed during a previous meeting. Vacant Apartment Cleaning Mr. Piper reported that a contractor would clean a vacant Hilltop Apartments unit, and stated that the estimated cost was approximately $150. FY 2000 Cycle Painting Mr. Piper reported that two units were scheduled for cycle painting in the current fiscal year, and reported that the Commissions contracted painter submitted a quote for $250 per apartment, plus repair costs. Mr. Piper recommended approval for this quotation, and Commissioners indicated their agreement for approval. Accounts Payable Report/Bills Bills in the amount of $55,406.70 were presented for payment. Commissioner Fowler, supported by Commissioner Skiver, moved to accept the Accounts Payable Report and pay the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously. PHAS/PHMAP Award Ceremony Director Cousino reported the receipt of an invitation to attend an awards ceremony in Washington DC, to celebrate the Commissions FY 1999 PHAS/PHMAP score. Mr. Cousino presented his opinion that insufficient funds were available for travel to this ceremony, and recommended that he not attend. Commissioners concurred with Mr. Cousinos recommendations. Deceased Tenant Policy No action occurred on this item. Mr. Cousino reported that the draft policy was currently undergoing review by the Commissions attorney. Additional Plumbing Mr. Piper reported that installation of additional valves had been necessitated while performing tub/shower valve replacement work at Hilltop Apartments, scheduled under the Commissions FY 1998 CIAP grant. Mr. Piper reported that the additional valve installation would cost approximately $7,000, and that Ryan & Bradshaw was the only firm contacted who were willing to quote on the work. Following discussion, Commissioner Fowler, supported by Commissioner Skiver, moved to approve the installation of the additional valves, not to exceed $7,000. The motion carried unanimously. Unfinished Business Y2K Action Team Reports Mr. Cousino and Mr. Piper reported that all systems had functioned normally during the millennium changeover. New Business No new business was presented.
