Minutes - Special Meeting February 22, 2001

Call to Order

A special meeting of the Hillsdale Housing Commission was held in the Community Room of Hilltop Apartments on Thursday, February 22, 2001 and was called to order at 12:15 p.m. by President Vear.  

Roll Call

Present were:

President Vear, Vice president Field, Commissioners Fowler and Doty

Absent were:

Commissioner Skiver

Also present were:

Executive Director Alton Cousino, Secretary Vickie VanVlerah, Housekeeper Luanne Lehman, and the following Hilltop Apartments residents; Jilleta Slocum (104), Bernadine Laser (103), and Ella Asaro (311). 

Hilltop Apartments Alarms Monitor

President Vear discussed the after-hours emergency system and the Hilltop Apartments Alarms Monitor. Former Alarms Monitor and Hilltop Apartments Resident Bernadine Laser stated that she was satisfied with current system is in place. Executive Director Cousino stated that he had continued his attempt to find a resident to serve an in-house monitor for after-hour emergencies but had not been successful. The Board requested that a survey be forwarded to residents to determine if there was any additional interest in this position.

Annual Plan

Executive Director Cousino presented all Commissioners with a copy of the draft Annual Plan for FYE 06/30/2002. Following discussion, Vice president Field, supported by Commissioner Doty, moved to post the Annual Plan for public comment. The motion carried unanimously.

Staff Wage Rates/Salaries

Executive Director Cousino furnished a copy of the 2000 Michigan Housing Commission Wage Rate Study to all Commissioners for review. Discussion ensued.  Commissioners agreed to discuss this issue at the next regular monthly meeting

Adjournment

Vice President Field, supported by Commissioner Fowler moved to adjourn at 1:40 P.M. The motion carried unanimously
