Joyce Johnson (402) and Carol & Doug Drinker, Family Members, Hildegard Sager (105) and son Richard Sager.

President Vear welcomed the residents and family members, explained that this special meeting was called due to the controversy over the monitors position and the after hours on call. She encouraged all to express their concerns but asked them to limit their comments to three minutes due to the size of the group.

Commissioner Fowler made a motion to rescind the motion made at the regular meeting of November 09, 2000 to abolish the monitors position and the after hours pager on call. Commission Field supported the motion. The motion was carried unanimously.

Several residents and their family members expressed their concerns regarding; not having an in house monitor, someone on call for after hours emergencies, the ability to obtain additional keys, after hour emergency phone number, lockouts, as well as other general concerns.

The Commissioners and Director Cousino responded to the concerns as follows: There was no response to the resident survey regarding the position opening for a monitor. Until someone changes his or her mind we will be without an in house monitor. Paul is on call until further notice for after hours emergencies.  Additional keys may be obtained, just fill out a work order and give it to Paul.

The subject of a Residents Association was brought up and discussed. The Commissioners agreed, and suggested that the tenants once again form a Residents Association. The Association would be a great help in an effort to effectively communicate between the residents and management.

The Commissioners mutually agreed to a Contract with Ames Message Center, a cell phone for after hours calls and to respond to emergencies within 24 hours.

Adjournment

The meeting disbursed at 2:34 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Victoria J. VanVlerah
Secretary, Hillsdale Housing Commission
