Minutes - Special Meeting December 19, 2001

Call to Order

A special meeting of the Hillsdale Housing Commission was held in the Community Room of Hilltop Apartments on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 and was called to order at 12:15 p.m. by President Vear.

Roll Call

Present were:

President Vear, Vice president Field, Commissioners Skiver and Doty

Absent were:

None

Also present were:

Executive Director Alton Cousino, Secretary Vickie VanVlerah, Housekeeper Luanne Lehman, and the following Hilltop Apartments residents; Joyce Feix (213), Lula Belle Englehart (405), Beulah Wright (411), Vaughn Martin (414), Erma Spade (415), Marlene Donihue (203), Alice Kuhn (309), Mary Throop (313), Herma Hauer (401), Renda Hicks (111), Helen Wolfe (416),  Jerry St. Peter (210), (Marcien Dietz), Joyce Hart (109), Betty Blair (205), Katherine Alton (212), Wilma Hyatt (215), Velma Smith (201), Joyce Johnson (402), Jill Slocum (104), Theresa Geren (202), and Vicky Carpenter(101)  

 A Special Meeting was called by the Hillsdale Housing Commission to address concerns of the residents, the Hilltop Apartments Resident Association, and their By-Laws. 

 The Hilltop Residents Association By-Laws were addressed, and minor revisions were made. Director Cousino stated that a revised set of By-Laws would be submitted to the officers of the Hilltop Apartment Residents Association for their review before their next scheduled meeting.

 The following were specific recommendations:

Article II:

  1. Change Item 2 from Establish communication between the residents of the Hilltop Apartments and the Hillsdale Housing Commission and to share mutual problems and concerns to Establish communication between residents of the Hilltop Apartments Resident Association and the management office of Hilltop Apartments, and to share mutual problems, needs and concerns.
  1. Change Item 3 from To work cooperatively with the Hillsdale Housing Commission to implement programs, monitor living conditions and to improve the general welfare for all of the Hilltop Apartments Residents to To work cooperatively with the management of Hilltop Apartments to implement programs, monitor living conditions and to improve the general welfare for all of Hilltop Apartments Residents.

Article IV:

  1. To include a section defining a Quorum for the purpose of conducting HARA business, consisting of not less than three officers, and insert this section as item number 2.

Several concerns were addressed at the meeting. Among them were Residents Guests, overnight guests signing in, and the proper procedures to be followed for complaints. 

Adjournment

Vice President Field, supported by Commissioner Doty moved to adjourn at 1:23 P.M. The motion carried unanimously
