Additions to AgendaReschedule next monthly meeting. Minutes - Regular Meeting April 03, 2008Commissioner LoPresto, supported by Commissioner Simons, moved to accept the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held April 3, 2008 as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Residents and Visitors with Commission BusinessRent CalculationA resident and her mother expressed concern regarding rent calculation. Director Cousino stated that rent was calculated based on the information presented. If residents feel the information management received was incorrect, residents should notify management. Emergency ProceduresRuth Pauken (101) asked if there is going to be any emergency drills. Mr. Cousino stated that the fire department would be asked to come and demonstrate emergency procedures in the near future. Accounts Payable Report/BillsBills in the amount of $44,907.00 were presented for payment. Commissioner Simons, supported by Commissioner LoPresto, moved to accept the Accounts Payable Report and pay the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Maintenance Supervisor’s ReportMaintenance Supervisor Mark Rich presented a written report. Following discussion, Commissioner LoPresto moved to accept the Maintenance Supervisor’s Report as presented. The motion was supported by Commissioner Simons and carried unanimously. PC’s for Hilltop Apartments ResidentsMr. Cousino presented additional quotes for the tenant’s computer as requested at an earlier date. Following brief discussion, Commissioner LoPresto moved to accept the bid from Sabertech for purchase of two computers. The motion was supported by Commissioner Simons and carried unanimously. FY 2008 PHA PlanDirector Cousino presented HUD’s approval of the FY 2008 PHA Plan. Employee Health Insurance Premium IncreaseMr. Cousino discussed an increase in the employee’s health insurance coverage. Although the increase was significant, premiums were much less than previously paid under the City’s plan. PHA Board MembersDirector Cousino stated that HUD recently published an article and presented it a state wide conference disallowing a city council member and/or a city employee to serve on any Housing Commission Board. July 2008 Board MeetingDue to the 4th of July Holiday, the July 3rd Hillsdale Housing Commission regular scheduled meeting was rescheduled for the following week, Thursday July 10, 2008. Grant ReportsDirector Cousino stated that he has received notification for the grant award for FFY 09/2009 if approximately $64,000.00. The grant is roughly $2,500.00 more than anticipated. No action on this item occurred. Unfinished BusinessHilltop Apartments Capital Need ListNo action occurred on this item. Resolution 2008-07 –Adopt Monitor Services ContractCommissioner Simons, supported by Commissioner LoPresto, moved to adopt Resolution #2008-07 Adopt Monitor Services Contract. The motion carried unanimously. New BusinessEmployees Health Savings Account – Employer Deductible ContributionsMr. Cousino stated that the Employee’s Health Savings Accounts policy expires in August. Currently, the Hillsdale Housing Commission pays 50% of the employee’s deductible. A decision will need to be made if the HHC would like to renew the policy in the near future. Commissioners requested the cost of the employer contributions be presented at the next meeting. No action occurred on this item. Resolution #HHC 2008-08 – Approve FY 2009 Operating BudgetCommissioner Simons, supported by Commissioner LoPresto, moved to adopt Resolution #HHC 2008-08 Approve FY 2009 Operating Budget. The motion carried unanimously. Resolution #HHC 2008-09 – Approve FYE 06/30/2008 Operating Budget Revision #01Commissioner Simons, supported by Commissioner LoPresto, moved to adopt Resolution #HHC 2008-09 – Approve FYE 06/30/2008 Operating Budget Revision #01. The motion carried unanimously. Reestablish Housekeeper PositionDirector Cousino distributed a spreadsheet detailing an estimated annual cost to reestablish a housekeeping position at Hilltop Apartments. Commissioner LoPresto, supported by Commissioner Simons, moved to authorize the hiring of a part-time housekeeper. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Cousino stated that the existing Job Description would be presented at a later date. AdjournmentCommissioner LoPresto, supported by Commissioner Simons, moved to adjourn.
