Homeownership Opportunities Policy Policies The Hillsdale Housing Commission will be supportive of efforts to provide public housing residents the opportunity to become homeowners. The Hillsdale Housing Commission will commit in principle to homeownership opportunities for public housing residents but at this time does not have the resources or interest from the tenants in the program to implement its own program. If a resident express an interest in this opportunity, the Hillsdale Housing Commission will provide assistance to the resident in identifying various agencies that have established homeownership opportunities. Procedures The Hillsdale Housing Commission will maintain a list of agencies that currently provide homeownership opportunities, and make this list available to any interested resident. The Hillsdale Housing Commission will conduct an annual survey of its residents to assess the interest in homeownership opportunities. The Hillsdale Housing Commission will make serious attempts to inform ad explain to residents that opportunities for purchasing housing are available. If substantial interest is expressed by the residents, the Hillsdale Housing Commission will make an honest effort to implement a homeownership program administered by the Housing Commission Approved by Hillsdale Housing Commission Board: 03/10/94 |
